Hey everyone. Today I have a not so exciting blog post, I am taking a break from this blog. It will not be a very long break so do not worry, I should be back making a ton of blog posts in a month. I have been super stressed lately and I have been putting off a lot of stuff to do blog posts for you all. I hope you can understand and I will be back after the holiday season! I will still be Tweeting and responding to e-mails so feel free to message me on either. Send me requests of posts you want me to do when I come back! Thank you so much for understanding, I will be back soon. Twitter: https://twitter.com/#!/blushingbarbie1 E-mail: beautytips4ever@gmail.com.

Nails Of The Day: Holiday Glitter!

Hey everyone! Today I am doing a differnt type of post, a nail of a day post! This nail look was inspired by the holidays and I think it would be perfect to wear on New Year's Eve! I hope you enjoy and if you like these types of posts please let me know!
So as always I started off by using a base coat. The base coat I am currently using is the Seche Clear Crystal Clear Base Coat witch I really like and I use this when ever I paint my nails. Then I took my Sephora by OPI Nail Polish in Personal Shopper, witch is the perfect red, and put two coats of that on all of my nails. Once that colour was dry I took my Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Extreme Wear Nail Polish in Strobe Light, witch is a multi coloured glitter polish with a clear base, and did one thick coat of that on all of my nails. After the glitter polish was almost all dry I took my favourite top coat, Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat, and put a layer of that on all of my nails. After that I took a cotton swab dipped in nail polish remover and cleaned up around the edges of my nails.
That is all I did to create the perfect holiday glitter nails! I hope you enjoyed. There will be a new "normal" post up tomorrow! If you like these types of posts please let me know and I will do more! You can contact me by leaving a comment, e-mailing me at beautytips4ever@gmail.com, or by following me on Twitter https://twitter.com/#!/blushingbarbie1. Recently Purchased Products #1!

Hey everyone! Today I am doing a different type of post than the posts I normally do, Recently Purchased Products. Basically all I will be doing is showing you beauty products that I have recently purchased and letting you know how I like them so far. I hope you enjoy and let me know if you would like to see more types of posts like this!
-Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation in Porcelan Ivory. So far I am not a huge fan of this foudation. It has a mousse consistancy but I find it hard to blend and it does not wear for very long. It does matify my face though so that is nice but it is to orange/yellow toned to match my skin well. If you want a foundation with a mouuse consistancy I would reccomend the L'Oreal Magic Smooth Souffle witch I have a reveiw on lushingbarbies.blogspot.com/2011/12/foundation-friday-loreal-magic-smooth.html. I will keep using this foundaion and tell you how I like after a while.
-Almay Truly Lasting Colour Foundation in Ivory. So far I like this foundation but I don't like it. It does stay on for quiet a while but it does not give great coverage and it can be hard to blend. The colour matches me well and I like the fact that this foundation has a pump so it is easy to dispence the product. It also has a SPF of 15 so that is nice if you live in a warmer place.
-L'Oreal Studio Secrets Base. I really like this base so far. It does not brake me out or clog my pores and it keeps my foundation on all day. The things that I do not like about this primer are it is hard to get product out of the container because it is in a little glass tub and I also don't like how little product you get in this because it was about $15  and I have alrady dented it and I have not used it that much!
-NYC Blushable Cream Stick in Big Apple Blush. I have always wanted to try these but I never got around to it so I decided to get one when I was at the drugstore and I love it! These are very creamy and pigmented, they also blend out amazingly. I would like to get more of these blushes. I like these more than my Hard Candy Hide & Glow Cheek Duos.
-Revlon Lip Butter in Strawberry Shortcake. These have been super popular lately so I wanted to get some. So far I think this is OK. They do moisturize my lips a tiny bit and they have nice colour payoff but they do not last long on my lips and they sink into the cracks on my lips. They also don't have any scent to them and this actually broke on me witch sucks!
-Maybelline The Falsies Flared Mascara in Blackest Black. So far I really like this mascara! It does not clump and it voloumizes my lashes amazingly! It does not hold a curl all day witch I found is the olny down side with this mascara.
-Pantene Restore Beautiful Lenghts Breakage Defence Shampoo. So far I really like this shampoo. It was $9 witch I found a little pricey for a drugstore shampoo but I really like it. It cleans my hair well and leaves it feeling shiney and soft. It also smells amazing!
-Pink Super Soft Bost Loiton in Pretty and Pure. I love this loiton! It smells amazing and it was not to expensive. It is also much more moisturizing then the Bath & Body Works loitons!
-Bath & Body Works Pink Sugarplum Shower Gel. This shower gel smells AMAZING! It works up such a nice lather when you use it but the scent does not stay on your skin! I purchased the pump seperatly.

That is the end of my first Recently Purchased Products post! I hope you enjoyed! If you have any comments or requets please let me know. You can contact me by leaving a comment, e-mailing me at beautytips4ever@gmail.com, or by following me on Twitter https://twitter.com/#!/blushingbarbie1. Foundation Friday! L'Orèal Magic Smooth Soufflè!

Hey everyone! Today I am doing a new "blog series" called Foundation Friday, yes I know cheesy name! Basically all I will be doing is every Friday or every second Friday I will be reveiwing a foundation (drugstore or highend). Foudation is my favourite type of makeup and I wear it every day so I have tried lots and know lots about them. I hope you enjoy this new series and if you have any requests for a foundation you want me to reveiw please let me know.

The foundation I have decied to reveiw today is the L'Orèal Magic Smooth Soufflè. This foundation is avalible at most drugstores for around $15-$18, witch to me is a little pricey for a drugstore foundation. You get 20 ml or 0.67 fl oz of product.
I really like this foundation. It has a mousse consistancy so it feels light weight on your skin while giving you light-medium coverage, witch I really like. The coveage is not super bulidable but I do like the coveage it gives. I think that this would be the perfect everyday foundation because it feels so light weight. The colour that I have this in is Natural Buff witch looks way to dark for my skin tone but once you have this foundation blent into your skin it lightens and matches me perfectly, I am NW20 from Mac for refrence. I usally apply this foundation with a stippling brush because I do not like using foundation brushes and this is harder to blend out with your fingers. As for packaging I am not a huge fan of it. It looks sleek and nice but it is heavy and takes up alot of space. This does not clog my pores or break me out so that is really nice. The staying power of this foundation is not great. It lasts for about 4-6 hours on my combo skin so I would really reccomend using a primer and a powder with this foundation. Overall I really do like this foundation and I think that the consistancy of this product is very unique. Remember to purchase a colour a few shades darker than your actual skin colour or else this foundation may be to light for you after you buff it out. I would repurchase this and I would reccomend it!

That is the end of my reveiw on the L'Orèal Magic Smooth Sufflè Foundation. I really hope you enjoyed this post and if you have any requests for future Foundation Friday posts please let me know. You can contact me by leaving a comment, e-mailing me at beautytips4ever@gmail.com, or by following me on Twitter https://twitter.com/#!/blushingbarbie1. November 20ll Favourites!

Hey everyone! Today I am doing my November Favourites! In this post I am just going to be showing you the beauty products that I have been using and loving this month! Enjoy! Sorry that the picture quality is not that good in these photos, they will improve!

-Hard Candy Glamoflauge Concealer in Light. I love this concealer, you can find it at the drugstore for around $6 and it works amazingly. I use this to cover any blemishes or areas that my foundation does not cover well. I use this concealer and my Mac Studio Finsh concealer everyday. The olny bad thing about this is that it olny comes in 3 different colours.
-Covergirl Eyeshadow Trio in Shimmering Sands. This is a pretty popular eyeshadow trio and I am in love with it! It is extreamly cheap and the eyeshadow quality is great. The shadows are creamy, pigmented, and east to blend out. I would reccomend checking this pallet out, it is also great for everyday wear.
-Mac Paint Pot in Painterly. This product is pricey but I would highly reccomend it. I use it everyday to prime my eyeshadows and I love it. It does not make my eyeshadows crease and it hides the vaining in my lids. I like this more than I like my Urban Decay Primer Poition.
-Mac Studio SPF 15 Foundation in NW20. This founation is also expensive but it is very good quality. This is a water based foundation so it feels light on your skin while giving meduim coveage. It is also quite long wearing and it does not break me out. I absolutly LOVE this product and I would reccomend it to everyone.
-Covergirl Lash Blast Volume Mascara. I wear this mascara every single day and it works amazingly. It is easy to apply and I do not get mascara all over my lid like I do with some mascaras with bigger wands. This volumizes, lenghens, and seperates my lashes so well. Plus this mascara is extreamly cheap and it is easy to find!
-Maybelline One by One Volume Express Mascara. I know I included this mascara in my last favourite post but I have been using it all this month as well so I thought I would include it. I put this on before I apply my Covergirl Lash Blast mascara and the two of them work great togeather.
-Femme Couture Mineral Effects Kabuki Brush. I love this kabuki brush for applying my powder. This brush is SO soft and it picks up the perfect amout of product. I got this for $10 at Sally Beauty Supply and I have been using it everyday since, I love it!
-Ka@ral X Moiton Form Protective Conditoner. This is basically just a leave in conditoner that you spray in your hair when it is wet. It makes your hair super soft and shiny without making it look or feel greasy. You olny need a tiny bit each time you use it and I can not go a day without using it now!
-Burt`s Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Hibiucus. This was in my favourite moisturizing lip products post and I have been using it the most out of all of my lip products. It is an amazing everyday lip colour and it is not to expensive either.

That is the end of my November 2011 Favourites! I hope you enjoyed and let me know what your favourite beauty products were this month in the comments. If you have any requets please let me know. You can contact me by leaving a comment, e-mailing me at beautytips4ever@gmail.com, or by following me on Twitter https://twitter.com/#!/blushingbarbie1. Reveiw: Elf Hoilday Gift Sets!

Hey everyone! Today I am reveiwing some of Elf's new holiday gift sets! I bought 9 of their gift sets and I am reveiwing 7 of them! I hope you enjoy and if you do share this post with your friends! I know that Elf products can be hard to find if you live in Canda (like me) but I actually found these gift sets at Giant Tiger for olny $5 each! These would make perfect gifts for the holidays because they are cheap and they come packaged so cute!

The first set I am reveiwing is the Flawless Face Set. In this set you get 4 shimmer creams, 4 concealers, 1 blush, 1 bronzer, and 1 face brush. The shimmer creams you can use on your eyes, lips, or face. I am not a huge fan of the shimmer creams but I will use them. I really like the concealers, they are creamy and they cover well. The colours you get are in the light-medium colour range so if you have darker toned skin these concealers might not work for you. The blush and the bronzer are HUGE, it would take such a long time to hit pan of them. I really love the blush it comes with, it is a very pretty wearable everyday pink with shimmer. I am not a huge fan of the bronzer just becuase it has shimmer in it so it does not look very natural when it is on but it is very pigmented. The brush this set comes with is horrible, it sheds, it is flimsy, and it is such an odd shape! This also has a guide on how to apply all of the products you are getting. Overall I really like the Flawless Face Set and I would repurchase it!
The next gift set I am reveiwing is the Everyday Eye Set. This set has 12 eyeshadows, a mini black eyeliner, and a sponge tip applicator. The eyeshadows in this set are super pigmented and creamy. The shadow colours that you get in this set are great because you get mostly neutral colours for everyday wear but then you get a few bright pops of colour to spice up your everyday look. You also get a guide with this set showing you how to apply the shadows and liner. I also really love this pallet and I would repurchase it.
The next set I am reveiwing is the Smokey Eye Set. In this set you get 9 eyeshadows, 3 gel eyeliners, a mini black eyeliner, and a sponge tip applicator. Just like the Everyday Eye Set the shadows in here are very pigmented, cramy, and easy to apply. The colour selection in this pallet is also amazing, half of the eyeshadows you are getting are neutral and wearable and the other half are more bold and out there. The gel liners that this set includes are very creamy and pigmented. The colours of gel liners that you get are black, gray, and a beautiful purple/plum. The eyeliner wears for a while and it goes on well. I like this pallet and I would repurchase it.
The next set I got is the Natural Eye Set. In this set you get 12 eyeshadows, a mini brown eyeliner, and a sponge tip applicator. Unlike the Everyday Eye Set or the Smokey Eye Set the eyeshadows in this set are all very wearable and perfect for every day use. It is also nice that you get a brown eyeliner instead of a black eyeliner in this set since it is more wearable. This is probaly my favourite eyeshadow set that I got because I can use it everyday. I would defentily repurchase this.
The next I got is the Shimmer Gloss Set. In this set you get 5 different lip glosses. The colours that you get are Victoria, Pink, Miami, Houston, and New York City. I was looking on the Elf website and this set is actually all sold out! I really like these glosses because they do not feel sticky on your lips and they smell amazing! But I found that these lip glosses did not come with much product and they are sheer. Overall I like the Shimmer Gloss Set and I would repurchase it.
The next set I am reveiwing is the Eyeshadow Set. In this set you get 4 eyeshadow duos and a eyeshadow brush. I already had the brush that this comes with but I really like it so it was nice to get another one. The eyeshadows that you get are amazing they are super pigmented and they go on so easily. One thing I don't like about the eyshadows is that they don't have names so you can not tell what colours you have. I would repurchase this set!
The last set I got is the Shimmer Eyeliner Set. In this set you get 5 shimmery liners. I really like these eyeliners becuase they are pigmented, they glide on so smoothly, and they last a long time on. I also like that these eyeliners have sharpeners on the lids so it is super conveient for travel. The colours of eyeliner that you get are black, gray, purple, blue, and brown/gold. This is one of my favourite sets that I got and I would repurchase it!

That is my reveiw on the Elf Holiday Gift Sets! I hope you enjoyed this post. If you want to buy any of these products online here is the link http://www.eyeslipsface.com/makeup/gifts. Elf is having their Cyber Monday Sale (50% off) and it ends at midnight tonight so if you want to purchase anything I would reccomend getting it now! If you want more posts like this or if you have any other requests please let me know. Makeup Giving Gift Guide!

Hey everyone! Today I am going to be doing a super exciting post, a Makeup Giving Gift Guide! It's olny about a month to the holidays and if you can't decide what to get for who you are buying for or you don't know what to ask for this will hopefuly help! This post will have some more pricey gifts and some cheaper gifts. I hope you enjoy!
The first thing that would make a perfect gift is a makeup pallet. You can find tons of different pallets at Sephora. My favourite highend eyeshadow pallet is the Too Faced Natural Eye Pallet. This is a super nice eyeshadow pallet for everyday wear, I have a reveiw on this pallet so if you want to know more about you can check out that post http://blushingbarbies.blogspot.com/2011/10/reveiw-too-faced-natural-eye-pallet.html. The Too Faced Natural Eye Pallet is avalible at Sephora and it is pricey so if you want a cheaper option I would reccomend checking out the Elf Beauty on The Go Pallet. In this pallet you get 60 different eyeshadows, 12 different lip colours, 2 bronzers, and 4 blushes for olny $18! I love this pallet and I think it would be great to get a freind or a family member if you are on a budget. Also BH Cosmetics and Costal Scents sell amazing face and eye pallets for not very much money so those would also be great gifts.
The next thing that I think would make an amazing gift is a brush roll! If the person you are buying for is just starting with makeup or does not have that many brushes this would make a great gift! You can find brush rolls at Sephora but they are a little expensive there. The brush roll shown in the picture is the Kirkland Signature Borghese Brush Roll. With this brush roll you get 10 brushes, the actual brush roll, and a mirrior for olny $22! These brushes are also really good quailty and some of them I use every day, I got this brush roll at Costco.
The next thing that would be a good gift is a perfume. Perfumes can be expensive so it would be a good thing to ask for the holiday season. If you are on a budget and a perfume is to much money to spend on a gift I would reccomend getting a body spray. Bath and Body works makes great body sprays in all different scents for olny $12.50. I did a post on all of my favourite scents from Bath and Body Works so you can check out that post here http://blushingbarbies.blogspot.com/2011/10/my-favourite-bath-body-works-scents.html. The perfume shown here is the Ed Hardy Love & Luck perfume witch smells amazing! The body spray shown here is the Bath & Body Works body spray in Pink Sugarplum witch is part of their holiday collection and one of my favourite scents ever!
The next gift that would be great to give a freind or family member is a gift set. They have SO many differnt gift sets at Sephora around the holidays. They also sell some gift sets at Wal-Mart for super cheap. If you don`t see a gift set that you like or that does not fit your budget you can always make your own! All you have to do it buy a cute makeup bag (you can get them at Forever 21, Wal-Mart, Sephora, etc.) then chose whatever makeup products you want to put into it! If you want me to do a seperate post showing what I would put into a homemade gift set just let me know in the comments.
Those are all of the bigger/more expensive gift ideas I have for you but if you just want some stocking stuffer ideas some things I would reccomend are nail polish, (so many differnt nail polish brands are coming up with hoilday polishes) body loitons, (my favourite are the ones from Bath & Body Works) and various hair products!

Those are all of my makeup gift giving ideas! I hope this helped and I hope you enjoyed! If you want me to do a wishlist post or a DIY makeup gift set post please let me know! You can contact me by leaving a comment, e-mailing me at beautytips4ever@gmail.com. or by following me on Twitter https://twitter.com/#!/blushingbarbie1.
